JLo Goes ‘Dark’ on Social Media

Big things must be in the works in JLo-land because her social media pages have gone dark! All of her Instagram posts have been removed along with her profile photo and her Twitter and TikTok profile pics are also blacked out. Her Facebook page is slightly different, with an updated profile image and header using the official “This Is Me…Then” font. The album’s 20th Anniversary is this Friday, November 25.

What do you think is happening? Use #JLOiscoming and #20YearsofTHISISMETHEN on social media to join the conversation and get excited with us! We joined in on the fun on our social media pages (Twitter, Instagram), as well as on the forum. We can’t wait to see what’s in the works!

Jennifer Lopez Covers Vogue

Jennifer Lopez is on the cover of the December issue of VOGUE! Jennifer discussed a wide range of topics in the interview, including her marriage to Ben Affleck, her current film project, Atlas, and new music!!

Here’s an excerpt:

Lopez has grand, multimedia plans for her current musical project. She wants to create a musical odyssey in the manner of Pink Floyd’s The Wall, she says—but with a message about hope and love. Perhaps the most poignant moment in Halftime, the documentary about her Super Bowl year released on Netflix last June, occurs when Lopez is reading out loud from an article about herself in Glamour. “It’s thrilling to see a criminally underrated performer”—here she pauses, and tears well in her eyes—“get her due from prestige film outlets.” In fact Lopez did not quite get her due, having been denied an Academy Award nomination, which some in the industry viewed as a snub. A Grammy continues to elude her, too. Despite her stardom, she has spent years fighting for credibility, and for all her artistic accomplishment, to some people she is, simply, Jennifer Lopez for a living. This hurts less than it once did.

“I’ve always felt like an outsider, in the fashion world, the music world, the movie world,” she explains. “I feel like everybody knows each other and all the artists talk, and you go to the Met ball and all the girls are hanging out together, and I’m not in that group. Maybe that’s just insecurity. It’s not because I’m antisocial or I don’t want to make friends. I’ve always been kind of a march-to-the-beat-of-my-own-drum, loner-type person. I’m like, I’ll just stay focused on my thing. I’ve always kind of felt like that. I still do. But I try! It used to be about the idea of validation in other people’s eyes. It really used to be. Because I wanted to be part of the club. But I don’t anymore. There’s something bigger that I’m after. It’s about touching people’s lives and being touched.”

JLo Launches JLo Body!

JLo Beauty by Jennifer Lopez is celebrating Jennifer’s birthday by announcing its first category expansion with the highly anticipated launch of body care! Introducing JLo Body, a clinically backed line of high-performance skincare for the body that delivers visible results and limitless confidence. The first product to launch is the “Firm + Flaunt Targeted Booty Balm” which is proven to firm skin’s appearance, help improve skin elasticity, and fade the appearance of stretch marks in targeted areas like the booty, hips and thighs with a blend of powerful active ingredients like invigorating Guarana Seed Extract and Pink Pepperslim.

Jennifer spoke with Allure and PEOPLE about the launch, saying:

“A lot of people invest in skincare for their face, but they don’t invest in self-care and skincare for their body. I don’t necessarily mean spending money, but instead taking time to cleanse, moisturize, use serums and masks. I want to normalize taking care of yourself. It’s not a selfish thing. It’s a nourishing thing. If you can’t take care of yourself, you certainly cannot take care of anybody else.”

JLo Wins At MTV Movie & TV Awards

Jennifer Lopez took home the awards for “Best Song” and “Generation Award” at the MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday! The Generation Award honors actors whose diverse contributions have made them household names and the Best Song award was for “On My Way” from MARRY ME.

I loved her speeches, especially when she won the Generation Award. Here’s a short excerpt of the speech, which you can watch in full above:

“I want to thank the people who gave me joy, and the ones who broke my heart. The ones who were true, and the ones who lied to me. I want to thank true love, and I want to thank the way that I lied to myself, because that’s how I knew that I had to grow. I want to thank disappointment and failure for teaching me to be strong. And my children for teaching me to love. I want to thank all the people who told me, to my face —or when I wasn’t in the room—that I couldn’t do this. I really don’t think I could’ve done it without you.”

Jennifer posted a short behind the scenes on her Instagram.

Here’s her Best Song Acceptance speech as well as photos.
