JLo Profiled in NY Times

Jennifer Lopez is featured on the cover of The New York Times Holiday Preview (out Sunday). Jennifer is featured to promote her upcoming movie, Second Act, out December 21! Here’s a short excerpt:

Lopez said she hoped to leave a mark on “the world I want my daughter to live in and my son, who’s going to be a man who respects women and understands women and gives them their worth.”

As a professional who carved out a path where there was none, “I’m only with people who understand that we’re in the history-making business,” she added. “We’re in the trailblazing business, we’re in the break-down-the-walls, kick-the-glass-ceiling business. That’s the business that we’re in. If you’re not on board for that, then we can’t work together.”

JLo Covers InStyle

Jennifer Lopez is on the cover of the December issue of InStyle! Outfitted in Valentino, Jennifer looks stunning in the new shoot by Anthony Maule. Here’s an excerpt:

[Jennifer] Lopez, who turns 50 in July, has been pondering her life path a lot lately. It’s partly because in her new movie, Second Act, she plays a character whom she describes as “soooo me” — an outer-borough girl with no connections and no college degree who suddenly finds herself across the river in Manhattan, navigating a world of glamour and power and Madison Avenue shopping sprees. It’s also because Lopez, after almost three decades of relentlessly public highs and lows, now understands herself better than she used to. A mother of 10-year-old twins (with ex-husband Marc Anthony) who meditates daily while juggling the jobs of actor, singer, Vegas performer, producer, reality-show judge, etc., etc., she has developed the kind of confidence that makes it easier to talk about her insecurities. Shortly after her breakout film, Selena, came out in 1997, Lopez remembers, she was speaking with a cousin whom she has known since she was young. “He said that whenever he saw me on TV or in movies, he thought, ‘She’s scared, but she’s doing it anyway.’ And he was absolutely right — I was terrified. But I really wanted to try. I wanted to do it.”

JLo Takes Home Video Vanguard, Best Collab Awards at MTV VMAs!

Jennifer Lopez, this year’s MTV VMA Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award Winner, showed everyone how it’s done with an epic 10 minute performance at the show last night! The performance encompassed nearly 20 years of music and I LOVED it! It was a great career retrospective and it was so much fun to take that walk down memory lane, taking it all back to where she started and the moment that made me a fan way back in 1999! I’m so proud of Jennifer and everything she has accomplished over the years. Congratulations, Jennifer! I can’t wait to see what she does next!

Here’s her acceptance speech, with a shout out to her fans: “Special thank you to the fans! You have touched my heart, my soul and become a part of me. Loyalty is everything to me, anybody who knows me knows that, and you guys have won me over forever.”

Later on that night she also picked up the award for Best Collab for Diner with Cardi B and DJ Khaled:
