This Is Me…Now & This Is Me Now: A Love Story OUT NOW!

It’s hard to believe but the wait is finally over! ‘This Is Me…Now’ and ‘This Is Me…Now: A Love Story’ are OUT NOW! The album is streaming everywhere and available in stores and the movie is streaming on Amazon Prime worldwide. I’ve been a JLover since 1999 and in my biased opinion, this is absolutely her best work.

There are many album editions including 8 different vinyl covers. There’s also a deluxe CD version which features a 40-page booklet, two Polaroids (out of 20 total) and a special message for fans. It’s worth it for the message alone, in my opinion! I loved it. Her official store also has a version which includes her commentary for each song. This version is just $4.99! And then the Deluxe digital version includes a remix of Rebound featuring Anuel AA.

The movie is getting great reviews and is currently has an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Make sure you leave your 5-star audience rating!

JLo Discusses This Is Me…Now with Zane Lowe

It’s an exciting time to be a JLover! In this new in-depth interview, Jennifer Lopez sits down with Zane Lowe to discuss ‘This Is Me…Now’. She talks about the inspiration behind some of the tracks on the album and shares insight into the movie, documentary, and tour that will accompany the album.

Jennifer also shared a preview for her first live performance, ‘This Is Me…Now on Apple Music Live’. That special is coming soon, so stay tuned!

JLo Covers Variety

Jennifer Lopez is on the cover of the latest issue of Variety! The issue features a brand new photos shoot as well as an in-depth conversation with Jennifer about ‘This Is Me…Now’ and ‘This Is Me…Now: A Love Story’.

Lopez called her longtime producing partner, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, in the middle of the night, telling her that she was kicking in $20 million of her own money to the project. (After it was completed, Amazon bought it for an undisclosed amount.) A potential partner had pulled out, she’d said, because they didn’t understand the thing.

“I’m in New York,” Goldsmith-Thomas tells me, “and she’s saying, ‘I think I’m going to finance this myself.’ I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ I don’t even know what it is. What are you doing?’ I was worried. ‘Why are you sharing your story? It’s too personal. Stop it.’ It made me uncomfortable for her.”

‘This Is Me…Now: A Love Story’ Advance Screening Report!

Thanks to Team JLo, we got to host movie theater screenings for ‘This Is Me…Now: A Love Story’ this week! On Wednesday, I made my way to NYC for the screening at AMC Lincoln Square 13. Fans who attended the event received a signed exclusive collectible poster (pictured below) and were treated to popcorn and drinks to enjoy while watching the film!

Now to the most important part – the movie and the music! I will attempt to keep this as spoiler-free as possible. In a nutshell, I LOVED it. It sounds cliche but the songs do sound like an older and wiser JLo’s ‘This Is Me…Then’. She’s grown so much since then and that growth is addressed lyrically and in the movie’s narrative. It was hard to digest everything but the lyrics seem very personal and honest and I can’t wait to listen to the album to really take them all in.

The visuals were absolutely stunning and like nothing we’ve ever seen her do before. If you’ve seen the movie stills, you may wonder how they could all belong to the same movie but they did a beautiful job tying it all together while also giving each song it’s own unique setting and moment. It’s beautiful, fantastical and out of this world but still feels really true to her and her heart. It’s not all Hearts & Flowers, though, and The Artist (Jennifer’s character) really goes through it. I loved those vulnerable moments and I found myself getting emotional during one part in particular: ‘Rebound’. I applaud her for going there because I can’t imagine how hard it was to open up in that way. I’ve followed her for 25 years and I know she doesn’t like to talk about the difficult times or let people in in that way (and I absolutely respect that) but seeing that side of her just makes me love her more. Other standout moments for me were ‘Hearts & Flowers’, ‘Hummingbird’ and ‘Midnight Trip To Vegas’. I also really loved ‘This Is Me…Now’ and ‘Broken Like Me’.

The celebrity cameos have been hinted at and I’ll only say that I really enjoyed how they were incorporated. I thought it was very clever and I particularly enjoyed Keke Palmer’s role. There was also a special cameo that I didn’t even realize who the actor was until the end.

Overall, the project is quintessentially JLo but the evolved version of her. I can’t wait for everyone to enjoy it! Very personal new music and a new movie with a unique vision and a wide variety of themes, dance styles, costumes, etc. What more could a JLover want?

‘This Is Me…Now: A Love Story’ premieres globally on Amazon Prime on February 16, the same day that ‘This Is Me…Now’ is released! Pre-save ‘This Is Me…Now‘ now!
