Deadline has announced that Jennifer Lopez and Armie Hammer will star in Lionsgate’s action-comedy “Shotgun Wedding.”
The film follows Darcy (Jennifer) and Tom (Armie), who gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage.
“Jennifer and Armie’s irresistible magnetism, separately and together, make them the perfect pairing for this action comedy,” said Erin Westerman, President of Production for Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group. “They are both incredibly funny actors that can also deliver on the action, but what sets this movie apart is the way their infectious chemistry commands the screen. You can’t take your eyes off them.”
Jason Moore will direct from a screenplay by Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether. The film will be produced by Jennifer, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina for Nuyorican Productions and Mandeville’s Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman.
Production is expected to begin early next year.

Jennifer Lopez will receive the People’s Icon Award at the 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards on Sunday, November 15! Jennifer is a PCA award-winner and six-time nominee. She will be honored for her iconic performances on stage and on screen, including her award-winning 2020 Super Bowl halftime performance and critically acclaimed lead role in Hustlers!

The awards will take place on Sunday, November 15 at 9 p.m. from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
