Top 10 JLo Moments of 2017!

It’s hard to believe another year has gone by! As always, Jennifer stayed very busy and worked on a multitude of projects. As I do every year, I’ve picked 10 of my favorite moments of the year! In no particular order, here they are!

People’s Choice Award

In January, Jennifer won the “Favorite TV Crime Drama Actress” category at the People’s Choice Awards for her role in Shades of Blue! I’m especially proud of this one because JLovers really banded together to vote and help her take the award home. You can watch her lovely acceptance speech here.

Giuseppe for Jennifer Lopez

Early this year, Jennifer and Giuseppe Zanotti teamed up for a stunning capsule shoe collection. The first collection was such a success that they collaborated on a second collection, which is out now. I can’t afford them, but that doesn’t mean I can’t admire them, haha!

Shades of Blue Season 2

After season one’s cliffhanger finale, I couldn’t help but wonder how Harlee and Woz would get out of their respective messes. Their actions had huge implications this season. Of course, the lies continued and things got even more complicated. It’s been so entertaining to watch Jennifer play someone as complicated as Harlee. Season 2 ended in a major cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see what happens next!  A date for the premiere of season 3 hasn’t been announced, but it’s expected soon! If you aren’t caught up, watch Season 2 now!

Somos Una Voz

I’ve very proud of Jennifer for this one! After a string of natural disasters, including Hurricane Maria’s destruction of Puerto Rico, Jennifer knew she could make a difference. Jennifer donated $1 million from the proceeds of her Las Vegas show, All I Have, to aid hurricane relief in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Jennifer also put her projects on hold and she, Marc Anthony, and Alex Rodriguez joined forces to raise funds for disaster relief. They spearheaded a TV telethon, One Voice: Somos Live! A Concert for Disaster Relief, which aired simultaneously on Univision, Telemundo, NBC, MTV, BET, VH1 and others. With their combined power, they raised over $36 million!

JLo & Arod Cover Vanity Fair

Solidifying their status as a power couple, Jennifer and Alex covered the December of Vanity Fair! The magazine featured a stunning new photo shoot by Mario Testino and an interview where Jennifer and Alex discussed how they met and their special bond.

World of Dance

World of Dance, which Jennifer produced and appeared as a judge on, premiered on May 30 to huge ratings on NBC. It was the #1 regular timeslot premiere of 2017 on the broadcast networks in the 18-49 demo, as well as the most-watched summer alternative series debut on cable or broadcast in nine years. The show was the breakout hit of the Summer, and was renewed for Season 2, which will be filmed in January.

Billboard Latin Music Awards

In April, Jennifer performed “Mirate” from her upcoming Spanish album, at the Billboard Latin Music Awards and won Social Media Artist of the Year and the Telemundo Star Award, which recognizes the achievements of a musical artist beyond their musical career. It was a very big night for her, and she also got a lot of attention for her jaw-dropping dress on the red carpet, of course! Her performance was probably my favorite this year! I just love Mirate and can’t wait to get the Spanish album in my hands.

Amor, Amor, Amor

In November, Jennifer premiered Amor, Amor, Amor feat Wisin. The video already has over 50 million views on Youtube/Vevo and debuted at #3 on Billboard’s Latin Digital Song Sales chart! The underground dance video also featured dancers from World of Dance! So far, Amor Amor Amor has peaked at #10 on Hot Latin Songs, #13 on Latin Pop Airplay, and #24 on the Latin Airplay charts.

JLo For GUESS

In November it was announced that Jennifer is the face of the GUESS Jeans Spring 2018 advertising campaign! Based on early images, the campaign will be stunning! The campaign will be released in early 2018.

Spotify Latino Podcast Interview

This was fairly recent, but it was my favorite interview this year! The hosts were obviously fans and they asked such great questions, which Jennifer answered thoughtfully. She talked about working with Marc Anthony, what’s on her bucket list, what makes her so driven, her upcoming Spanish album, the Super Bowl, and more. I loved it! You can listen here. Since I don’t have enough room to include them, I’ll cheat a bit and mention Jennifer’s excellent Spotify singles – Vivir Mi Vida and an acoustic version of Ni Tu Ni Yo.

We have tons of projects to look forward to in 2018: new music, season 3 of Shades of Blue, season 2 of World of Dance, Bye Bye Birdie, the final shows of All I Have, and who knows what else Jennifer has up her sleeve.
