JLo at LULAC Unity Luncheon

Jennifer Lopez appeared at the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Unity Luncheon in NYC earlier today!

In front of 1500 Latino leaders, Jennifer spoke briefly about empowering the Latino community: “When I think of ways that I can lift up my community, make us more empowered, I’m going to do it in the best way I know how. By making sure that our stories get heard. I’m a singer, I’m an actress, and that means I tell stories for a living.” With that said, Jennifer previewed a new show she executive produced for Nuvo TV, Los Jets. Los Jets follows the compelling story of Siler City’s top-ranked boys’ high school soccer team, the Jordan Matthews Jets, as they fight for a spot in the North Carolina State Championships. The players on the Jets are all sons of Latino immigrants who came to the region in search of a better life for their families.

Jennifer also introduced First Lady Michelle Obama. Mrs. Obama thanked Jennifer for her introduction, saying, “I want to again thank Jennifer for that very kind introduction and for all of her amazing work to lift up our young people every single day.  She is truly an amazing woman, and I am so very proud of all of her work.”

Immediately after the luncheon, Jennifer hosted a private screening of Los Jets. Here are photos of Jennifer at the event. More photos tomorrow, so check back!
