I know this is a forum to discuss things that Jenn is currently working on, but as we know, she supports anything that has to do with the wellbeing of children since she's had Max and Emme and it is a cause very dear to her heart. She even created the Maribel Foundation and on the site it says, "Where children are concerned there is no time to lose!" I really feel like she could be a great voice for this cause.

Please watch the video and share it on your Facebook and tweet @JLo so she can get involved! I figured us J.Lovers have a powerful voice when we work together and we should help!

Watch on youtube.com

That video was intense! Thank you for sharing this on here. There are so many injustices in the world. And this is just one of them.

I definitely think we should try to get Jennifer's attention on this matter.

You know what the sad thing is? This awful thing is going on, but people just don't know about it.

Like how people on this forum keep replying on topics about Jennifer's new music, etc. 30 mins is probably to long for them to dedicate to watching such a powerful video like this. While they are probably jamming to Jen's snippet of Dance Again for 2 hours straight.

Please, I urge everyone on this forum to watch this video. You will be tocuhed.

Very true, I had it playing in the backround while I did other things. Sad video, and shit like this goes on all over the world.

There's horrible things going on every second of the day, all year long. Not going to ruin my mood right now, will watch it tomorrow. This would've probably gotten more response on any other day.

^ No need to get intense Imko. Everyone obviously supports the cause. Just watched it. Just because people are enjoying an entertainment forum and excited about new music. Doesn't mean everyone is shallow and stupid.

This type of thing has been going on for years and it's really sad. I first learned about this like 4 or 5 years ago. They used to have DVD's that they would sell with bracelets on them. I knew about this because they came to my school and showed the video. After they came I went on a mission trip. We got there to work with these kids at a camp and when we got there in Gulu for whatever reason didn't want us coming in and working with the kids. So for 2 weeks we worked with other kids and did different jobs. I have to say it was one amazing experience and more pple need to know about it. This would be the second time I went to Africa. I think about going back all of the time. I miss the kids.

I'm actually from Haiti and when you look at my newsfeed there are more Haitians reacting to this then Americans, for example, because a lot of people don't know what kind of horrible things are going on in the world and it doesn't affect them. For example, I didn't even know about this going on, but in Haiti we had something similar, but not at this scale. Just the idea of forcing an innocent child to kill another human being is gut wrenching and to make the girls sex slaves almost made me want to throw up. I literally cried when I saw this!

Imko, I was actually expecting this sadly, but I felt like I should try. I know most people come here for the music and movies so I get it. Plus, a snippet was released so everyone is going crazy.

Just watched it anyway, it's always good to open eyes and this Kony guy should obviously get captured, but..

It's hard to explain cause English isn't my first language and I might sound stupid, but I can't help but feel this is all a little bit hypocritical at the same time. Would you have supported it if you had to do more than sit in your chair and tweet a message?

I honestly can't believe you guys haven't heard about crimes like this before. It happens everywhere in the world. I've seen several documentaries that were very similar, all in different parts of the world. For example I've seen one recently about kids leaving their families to work in mines with the promise they'll earn a lot of money for their family...in reality they have to work under horrible circumstances to end up paying everything they earn back to barely get a roof above their head and almost nothing to eat, the girls have to prostitute themselves to survive. That the world is fucked up is nothing new.

You can say you support it, but in reality, unless you buy everything fair trade, you all including me support it indirectly. I don't want to sound like a cold asshole, it is very very horrible, but really..going for one guy by tweeting about it isn't going to change anything. This guy will be replaced as soon as he's captured. If we want a better world the western world has to change, and to be honest, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

So far my rant of the day.

I agree with a lot that you have to say and I am not exactly saying that I'm a saint. But this is a fairly easy cause. Raise awareness and that's it. I just wanted us to urge Jenn to tweet it as well and spread the word. I grew up in a country where I had to be in an armored car with security and have had many family members killed and I will say when they removed the main person things did escalate a bit but it got better in better after that. To intimidate them to stop, you have to take out the leader. And I just see this as doing something very simple to make a small difference in a very corrupt world, but you have to start somewhere.

I completely support this. It just breaks my heart that children have to go through this. They deserve a happy life. They deserve to study and be kids. This world is scrude up. It would be nice to get celebrities involved.

It's sad... But sorry... What could Jennifer do? A song about it?
Unfortunatelly the world we live is full of wars, sadness and pain. Every country has their own problems.... Jennifer is a very good person and she already supports many causes and i don't think a tweet from hers would change anything. This is a very specific problem that no one outside Uganda can stop. The maximum that i think that can happen is an internal war there generated by human righs groups.

If you look forward you gonna find even worst situations in the planet...

So many people knew after Bordertown of the murders in Juarez, and what changed? That city is still one of the 5 most violent cities in the world... So many documentaries about the brazilian favelas, and what can the watchers do? Nothing... This is our problem...Even though hard to solve the biggest and most important awareness must come from us... And sorry, only Uganda's govern (if it has a real govern) could do anything for these kids.

Don't wanna be seen as a heartless person... But i just don't get affected with this anymore... I know about this, so, what can i do? If i tell my mother, what can she do?

This is a very specific and sad problem that unfortunatelly we can't do anything to avoid or stop, IMO.

But if it makes some of you happy i saw recently two people of her team tweeting about it: https://twitter.com/#!/Trios22/status/1 ... 0437070848 (the other one i forgot).

This video is truly amazing. It touched me. Wow, 8 years! This is perseverance!
I was reading the comments here before watching the video and I agreed with some people said, that we cannot do much, only the government, etc.. But after seeing this, it totally changed my mind. Of course we can do something. We can spread this on the internet and try get some attention.
One person can't, but if we are united, this can go far.
It would be great if Jennifer was involved. I'm sure she would be touched and she would do something, because she is influential worldwide.

I'm gonna do my part, hope everyone will do the same.

BTW, this Joseph Kony gotta die, that's what he deserves.

It's an awful awful awful situation, and awareness is good, but I have to agree that this is an extremely complex issue. Stopping Kony will solve very little if the government and military are also corrupt (which is what I've read in reports).

Hopefully awareness will be a step in the right direction, but I have to agree that people tweet about it to pat themselves on the back and feel like they're accomplishing something and making a difference, when they really aren't.

#Cynical :\

lol

I think those of you who are trying to portray BB'ers as shallow and "Why am I not surprised they care more about music" bs need to get your heads out of the sand. I agree that it is a sad situation over there but there's only so much one person can do. We can unite and spread the word and it seems like most people who have FB here prolly already did that.

Try not to be too harsh on people who come here to escape the harsh realities of life guys.

I live in Cambodia, these things happened here almost 30 years ago, and right now I can do nothing but spread awareness on this matter.
I support the cause and I'm pretty sure everyone on here does, and hopefully sth will be done.
And I have to admit if I were to choose btw DLD snippet over this, I would....and if that makes me shallow then so be it....but that doesnt mean I dont care..
