When you are in the middle of a huge promo push like you're doing this week, what do you do to keep your energy up?
Jennifer Lopez says:
I've always had good energy. I'm not one of those people that can just sit around. I'm always doing something anyway. I just have natural energy because I don't really take any energy supplements. I've been blessed with natural energy.

I know many people will be jealous of that. (laughs)

There's a flip side to that, though. When you try and go to sleep, you're still thinking too much.

When that happens then, what do you do to help you get to sleep?

I try to just meditate and just relax, but meditation has helped me a lot, otherwise I'd never get to sleep. (laughs)

You know, sometimes I wake up and I'm like "God, what happened to me"? (laughs) I see myself as someone who is caring and loving and just a good person inside.

When I was younger, I used to do track and stuff like that. I just have a basic cardio workout.

No, not at all. (laughs) I eat what I want, but of course I eat it in moderation. It's not like I have a piece of cake every day, but some days I will have a piece of cake or some ice cream. Just not every day.

It's not like just one. I would say it's been a couple. I really looked up to Rita Moreno. "West Side Story" was one of my favorites growing up.

It wasn't any one thing, when I was younger my mom would make us sit down and watch musicals like "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" and I wanted to be Maria in "West Side Story" and I think that influenced me the most growing up.

I listened to a lot of salsa, Mark Anthony, Los Adolecentes, Tony Vega, India, Maxwell. I have an assortment, a whole bunch of stuff I like.

About your new CD, "J. Lo" cutiepie Asks: Do you feel any emotional connections to the songs on your album? And which one is your favorite?

Oh definitely! I don't think there's any artist out there that makes an album and doesn't feel a connection. To choose a favorite, that's like picking which of your children is your favorite. (laughs) I would have to say "Secretly" is one of my favorites and "That's Not Me" and I also like "I'm Real." I can't pick a favorite (laughs)

Yeah, I wrote seven songs.

Well they are still talking about the tour. It's in the works.

I'm sure everyone saw on MTV how I fell and twisted my ankle. I had on these high heels and was running on the beach and the shoes caught on this grate and it twisted my ankle and we had to shut down for the day.

I read a book, or bring along a script. Plane rides to me are like sleep time for me. I just take advantage and do things I don't always get to do.

Definitely, I know they hear this all the time, but stay in school. To me school is the most important thing. You can get a job, and if it doesn't work out, you always have your education. Stay in school, stay away from drugs, and don't be afraid to dream. Dreams come true, I'm living proof of that.
