She has publicly said she would love to work with big name directors. Can't think of any specific names right now, but in most of her rom coms and some other of her recent films she has played relatively safe characters that don't stray far from how she usually portrays any character on film. I'm sure if big names like Scorcese, or Villenueve, they will coach her in the direction they want her to go. The directors she has worked in the 2000's era, except for maybe in El cantante, haven't really pushed her abilities like they used to back during her acting days in the late mid to late 90'snixy1991 wrote:Don't know about that, I don't think her ego is that out of control to flat out refuse being directed. I actually think it's a testament to her talent how consistently she's been delivering good performances, despite the fact that the scripts and directors she worked with weren't all that great.mEm wrote:U guys still hoping that Jen'll work with a good director and the director will push her hard to be better?
Keep dreaming.
Jen'll always be the biggest person in the room, she is always the boss. She always gets the things done in her own ways.
Do you think that any director from Shades Of Blue could say something to Jen that she doesn't want to hear? She's the boss and they're (including the directors) all employees.
I even think she did good in TBND (even though she took the whole thing way too seriously), but there's one scene in that movie (in the gym with Guzy) that is honestly the worst acted scene in her entire career. That scene is the perfect example of how a shitty script, horrible director and a complete misjudgment of tone can make even the best of actors deliver awful performances.
Let it never happen again.

Treat Williams, Larry Miller Join Cast Of STXfilms’ Romantic Comedy ‘Second Act’
This cast need more diversity.. Do better Jen & Elaine :coffee
Treat Williams and Larry Miller have joined the cast of STXfilms’ romantic comedy Second Act starring Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini. They also join Vanessa Hudgens and Masters of Sex actress Annaleigh Ashford in the film that will be directed by Peter Segal.
I know... The cast is chock full of white people. :coffee
yup it' a bit disappointing coming from something she produce since she often talked about the importance of diversity on screen something they did well for Shades of blue.
