GIRLS’ GENERATION TO RELEASE NEW JAPANESE SINGLE “PAPARAZZI” ON JUNE 27TH

According to Girls’ Generation‘s official Japanese mobile fansite (via Soshified), the Divine Nine will be releasing a new Japanese single titled “Paparazzi” on June 27th.


The release seems a bit sudden, but the song has already been in the works for months. Back in April, Tiffany revealed that the girls were working on a new Japanese single, joking that the choreography for it is “the most difficult in the history of the world” due to the song’s “fast beats”, which she described as “energy draining”.

Fast beats? Choreography? Yes!

Unlike KARA, who keep it sweet for Japan and a little edgier for Korea, SNSD are the complete opposite, saving their more grown-up and contemporary dance-pop music for the Japanese market (hello, just listen to their badass Japanese album). Judging by Tiffany’s description, it sounds like they’ll be keeping that style for “Paparazzi”.

So excited right now, you guys.

UPDATE: “Paparazzi” was previewed on a Japanese TV show today. It looks and sounds amazing! “Ooh la la la!”

Not being disrespectful...never heard of them before but seen a few posts of them on here lately! Where are they successful besides Japan? I needs some education on them lol

They are the biggest South Korean and generally asian girl group. They became really succesful in Japan with their debut japanese album which sold 800,000 + there and with their sold out tour. As the korean pop wave is getting bigger and bigger all over the world the girls' label has managed to do concerts with all its artists (including Girls' Generation) at Bejin, Tokyo, Los Angeles (2 times), Shanghai, Paris (which the reception there was huge and had 2 sold out concerts!), more recent at New York (at madison squarre making them the first asian artists to perform there) and also a big kpop concert at Sydney. They released their first english song The Boys (the english version of the korean song from their 3rd korean album) and they released a maxi single on itunes and amazon worldwide. They never really promoted The Boys in the US. They achieve though 2 performances at David Letterman and Live with Kelly making the first korean artists to appear on national television. Their third album was also released in the US, Spain and France reaching #64 in Spain, #84 France, #17 US Heatseekers and #2 US world albums. Their latest subunit Taetiseo (combined by 3 of their members) released the mini album Twinkle reaching the top five in the US and spending almost three days in the top 10. Because of the digital sales, the album debuted at No. 126 on the US Billboard charts, making TaeTiSeo (or should I say, Girls’ Generation) the second Korean artist ever to chart on the Billboard 200 with a Korean album. Now they will release a new Japanese single and they will be preparing their first English album under Universal records and Jimmy Lovine.

Do you watch eatyourkimchi on youtube FantasyJen? You should its so hilarious and informative. They review music every monday and have so many videos about korean culture in general they also mention SNSD and their japanese singles as well.

If anyone wants to know more about korean girl/boy groups or korea in general but are lazy and dont want to read anything then you should watch. Here's a review they did for one of SNSD's singles. there channel is called "simonandmartina"

The song is just Ok far from their best and the video's begining hyped it up to be amazing but was so fake. Especially that one part in the start where their walking down that alley and they meet up to throw their coats. That part was just ridiculous and so random. It just didn't look like a real place to me.

The song s is a grower. I first I just liked it now I love it! The stage and the whole theme is meant to be broadway. The theatre stage is real. It is the most expensive video they have done. They really give depth to the stage. They used 30,000 lights for the sets.

I think they are so cool. I think my favorites are Seohyun & Sooyoung. I don't know them well enough to say for sure
I would love an english album so I can sing along. An english version of Run Devil Run would make me so happy. Love that song and the video is wicked!

I love them too, the only problem I have with them is there all so homogenized nobody stands out as with for example 2NE1 does.They all look the same and act aegyo most of the time.

OMG wow! I first heard of them here on BB. These girl's are BEAUTIFUL. I've always had a thing for Asian women every time I see them out on the streets they just amaze me. I always want to like compliment them, they're so pretty and stylish. Nice hair, makeup etc... Wow I watched the clips you posted Fantasyjen and they did an amazing job with "Cater 2 U" one of my favorite Destiny's Child songs! I definitely have to listen to more of them. I had to go "Like" them on Facebook lol <3
