Not a Nicki "HUGE" fan, but we should criticize her rap skills not her singing skills, Rap has nothing to do with the vocal talent, I mean Rap music doesn't require vocal abilities imo.

But I think no one will argue that Nicki CAN rap, whether you like her music and style or not.

I LOVE nicki!!

The thing is, while myself and some other consider her as a rapper, she does also sing her choruses and sometimes her verses, which can be a bit confusing for people. Songs like "Your Love", Right Thru Me", "Check It Out", & "Super Bass" (& others from tracks from the album) are like rap/pop sung tracks. She has also sung on a dance track with David Guetta called "Turn Me On".

Sometimes I feel she doesn't know what she is anymore. She was a rapper first and foremost, and now she's doing all these other elements like Pop, R&B & Dance and she's trying to sing aswell, but then to alot of people she doesn't sound like "Rap" anymore. While, I think she's a good lyricist I don't think she's shown us her best, unless she doing a "diss track". She's just too gimmicky imo, like in songs like "Stupid Hoe" & "Roman In Moscow" (and several others since 2010). She just gets all cartoonish, childish, and annoying, and I feel like she should just be herself. Like show us who you really are, what you really about, and stop with the Lady Gaga outfits, and annoying persona.

Aside from that, "Fly" is still my mothafuckin jam, and she does atleast sound normal!

But I mean her "rapping" is pretty good in this song. Besides, I love all her other music styles but I always prefer Nicki the rapper to Nicki the pop singer (especially her old style of rapping). ... Rapping is the only thing she can do better imo.
