Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez didn’t miss a beat when “American Idol” wrapped its final season in 2016, continuing the remarkable turnaround that began when she first landed in the judge’s chair. The superstar actress and singer has bounced back from a string of setbacks to once again rocket to the A-list.

The charismatic J.Lo hasn’t wasted her second shot at the limelight, revitalizing her music career and becoming one of the most recognizable faces on television. An NBC mainstay as star and executive producer of the drama series “Shades of Blue,” Lopez is increasingly busy off-camera, where her Nuyorican Productions is developing a crowded slate of film and TV projects.

She is also an executive producer on NBC’s “World of Dance,” Freeform’s “The Fosters” and “Bye Bye Birdie,” a live musical NBC has postponed to 2018.

Born in the Bronx, NY, Lopez got her start as one of the dancing “Fly Girls” on the popular sketch comedy series “In Living Color.” She broke into stardom with the 1997 biopic “Selena,” and became the highest-paid Latina actress in Hollywood history the following year, for “Out of Sight.” In 2001, she became the first woman to have a number one movie (“The Wedding Planner”) and album (“J.Lo”) in the same week. She debuted as a judge on “American Idol” in 2010.
