Sources: Jennifer Lopez Is Leaving American Idol!

Jennifer Lopez may have just been named by Forbes magazine today as the most powerful celebrity, but her reign at American Idol is coming to an end.

While J.Lo has publicly said she has yet to make a decision about her future on Idol, sources exclusively tell me that she she's planning on calling it quits.

"She's just too busy," one source said.

That's so very true.

She's about to launch a mega concert tour with Enrique Iglesias that kicks off this summer in Latin America and the U.S. She plans to go worldwide in the fall.

I'm told Lopez will be on the road, at the very least, through the end of the year.

The next round of Idol auditions will begin while she's overseas.

The superstar apparently wants to free up her schedule next year, possibly taking a little hiatus from work to be with her kids.

"It is just like any working mom's dilemma," Lopez told us at Monday's premiere of What to Expect When You're Expecting. "It's tough. It's a balancing act. You put them first and then you have all these other things that you have to do, that you have to give your time to as well, and you have to make sure that they're OK in the process."

Fox declined to comment on Lopez's future with the show. Meanwhile, a source close to the production tells E! News that "Fox does not want to let her go. They love her."

Lopez has been on Idol for two seasons with one-year contracts for both.

Now the question is, will Fox try to change Lopez's mind with a much bigger payday?

'American Idol' -- We Really, Really Want Jennifer Lopez Back



Jennifer Lopez isn't sure if she'll come back for a third season of "American Idol," but the big cheese on the show says he wants her back in the worst way.

"A.I." EP Nigel Lythgoe tells TMZ, "We want her back. I want her back." Nigel is reacting to Lopez' comment on "Ellen," saying, "I don't know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down."

Nigel says, "I know how much she loves doing the show and how much she cares for the kids." That said, Nigel adds, "It's a business. She has to weigh everything. I know she's gotten lots of offers to do movies and other things."

Ever the optimist, Nigel says by saying she "doesn't know" if she'll come back, it's classic negotiations, which means the door is open. Welcome to Hollywood.

AI is as boring as they come and has no international appeal whatsoever I just see the Jennifer parts and skip all the rest. Sometimes I wish she just started cursing them all.

No international appeal? Don't they air it is a gazillion different countries?

Hmmm, I don't know what to think. She could easily be posturing for more money, but then she is also REALLY busy lately. But, $20+ mill is hard to walk away from.

I dunno about other countries, over here they air it as a filler at random times and it's never made it anywhere near prime time. No-one cares about country music.

I was watching her Dance Again performance again today, and at the end...she really sounded like shes saying goodbye...
This means shes gonna tour the rest of the year and concentrate on her music and movies, which is good, but the fact we wont be seeing her twice a week kinda sucks...

Idol is easy money (but Jen has more than enough) and great exposure for her, but I think she should def walk away. The show did what it needed too for her career, she started a new trend (all these big stars wanting to be judges on these shows), she is back in the public eye, people love her more than ever. She should release a new album, tour the world the rest of this year, take some time off, and find a few good movies to work on next year...plus the Idol people love her so she can always come back to perform and premiere her videos

Country music? there has barely been any country music this season? Only Skylar sang country songs, but she's gone now.

We'll see, I don't trust the media. The Idol producers love this "will she, won't she" game. I couldn't care less if she does another season or not, I'm getting my tour (if she tours Europe), that's all that matters right now. lol

If she does get another offer from AI it better be for like 50 million...lmao (I gain nothing out of that though so I'd rather she focus on movies)...

A lot of predictions for WTEWYE are saying it is not going to to be a hit movie. 18 million opening weekend is the prediction. Will that effect her movie career?

All these commercial deals from working on Idol could start to wane. It would be crazy imo to Quit now. Give it another year. She is probably holding out for more money.

18 million would be a vast improvement over her last couple of films but with an all-star cast...hmmm

I want only 1 more season. I m scared she ll get off the radar again without Idol.

idk..truth is that she will have to be on tour internationally all fall right?so how can she be filming the auditions?hen do they start filming?her schedule is so full...btw if she wants to do a great film i m voting get rid of idol and focus on a great role...but indeed idol is helping her stay relevant and get exposure weekly....idk

I think she has paved the way i mean of course Fox loves her but by increasing the pay rate is not something to think about due to high pay in salary. It all about Jen Life and her kids. I think she did her time for 2 seasons and it time to movie on to something new and bigger. Her name as a judge will always be memorable,we ask for a World Tour now we got it let us J.lOvers FOCUS on that Music career,and new movies. I really want her to release her long awaited Greatest Hits album and a full legenth album later in this year. By 2013 focus all throughout the year Dramatic roles in Movies.

I say she should do it for one more season, with the same pay.

Or honestly maybe she could take a couple million off in a trade so she can be able to

promote and perform her new singles and material on different shows and award programs.

I really want her to stay, We will hardly see her...seeing her twice a week is amazing! Don't leave!

If you're not doing idol, please do a serious movie and if there's new music, please promote it properly. Don't go on leave of absence. I mean, you just got relevant again - it's not a good time for a hiatus whatsoever

U know I have been in the middle with this! Last year they played the media game all summer so we will see what happens. I want another season tho if she goes on hiatus. Now is not the time to do that especially when she is back on top. If she does go I want her to do some movies and music and I think she will just scared about the hiatus part and the media could be making that up. I don't know that she would for very long.
