This thread is for all people who liked the old Jennifer Lopez and are getting lost and sad to see how she is fighting constantly to stay famous but is loosing all her credibility as an arists on her way to achieve this goal. The Fiat campaigne was the sad finale of her collapsing career as a hollywood actress and Idol is like a coffin nail for her acting career (besides romantic comedies, but this genre is dead in my eyes and you don't need to be a actress to get these roles).

I am a big fan of her early hollywood career. She was the new bad girl in hollywood. She spoke her mind, she did edgy and risky roles and what is now? It is only about staying famous and relevant and doing more endorsement deals. She is becomming the embodiment of everything that is wrong in commercial pop culture. (no surprise Kim Kardashian is refering to her as her biggest idol and Paris Hilton is trying to compete with her all the time: "I am earning more money than J.LO")

I think it is especially intersting to compare J-Lo to Beyoncé. they started at the same time in show buisness. Beyonce on the other side is still highly accepted by most people (also in more educated circles). She is obviously doing everything completly right, while J-Lo struggles more and more. What is the difference between both of them? Good roles, good music on Beyonce's side. I think Beyonce is hiding pretty good that she earns millions and millons with endorment deal. J.Lo instead seems to be a pure company without any artistic expression behind this image. Her voice is of course the other problem. She can't sing live good enough to get credibility as a voice. J-Lo's only possibility would be her great acting talent to reclaim this credibility back, but she is defining herself more and more as a pop-singer and less as a hollywood actress (I think this changed from her early career years).

J-Lo is getting more and more a simple public figure and a celebrity but she is not standing for quality in acting and music anymore. I completly understand why she is the only singer with no grammys and the only actress of her generation that was never nominated for an Oscar.

I hope she will take a break from her singing career and tries to become a hollywood actress again.

What is your favorite Jennifer Lopez movie? I love Out of Sight and U-Turn. She is so amazing in these movies and it is just sad how wrong her career became since these days. She could be on Kate Winslet's and Angelina Jolie's level as an actress if she would not made the wrong career choices...what if she did different choices? Without her pop music career she would be HUGE as an actress now.

no, I am sorry. But that is a lie. She is a pop stars that is doing sometimes roles in movies (like Rihanna or Nicole Scherzinger etc.). But she is no real actress anymore. All the movies this year are proving ths clearly.
