She is back to Billboard 200. Love? sold really well last week, hope Christimas sales keep it in the top 200, so we can reach 300k in two more weeks.

Big sales gain.. i still belaive this album would have gone gold if she promoted it properly in may and june...

if it stays there for xmas sales .. it will definetely reach 300 + copies...

They should slash the price to $4.99 everywhere for xmas.
I also DONT understand why the dont just throw the 'Good Hit' and 'Take Care' videos up on her Vevo account. They would both get millions of views so make a profit for IDJ. They would promote the album as well. They could also just throw 'Take Care' out as an Urban Christmas track. The video with the right treatment could look like winter with Jen wearing white fur etc and they could do a couple of remixes with it.

def jam is not interested in jen s record sales it seems.. they have done 0 to get her sales up... imo...

they could do so much for this album to sell during the holiday but they wont do anything...

they could reduce price to 6.99 during the whole month in every store and watch those sales rise..etc etc

Maybe if she got off her ass and stopped with the cute interviews in pretty dresses and performed live instead like every other hard working musician in the music industry.

Negative, I have never heard of such a thing. Who certifies this because in the U.S. the RIAA is based on Gold, Platinum, Multi-Platinum (2x+), and Diamond certifications/sales from within the nation. While outside territories have their own certification systems for recording artists in their country.

So what's your source? What group governs this "worldwide plaque" as you say?

I heard about platinum certification for 1 million copies sold for Europe,  you can see this at the IFPI website.

But I've never heard about worldwide certifications!

I m pretty sure def jam didn t want to pay her production to perform on big events in time album was released... so all promotion was done by jenn herself and fiat lately... ...

Did you ever hear about an internacional music institution called ''International Federation of the Phonographic Industry?'' Image
Even the World Music Awards use their information since it's the only accurate global way to register these sales - but it won't give a certification in case the record label doesn't apply for.

This is a way to praise the achievements of Global Artists like Shakira, Kylie etc.

It's not because u never heard that it doesn't exist.

Now in their website they are only registering sales in Europe for more than 1 million, but recently Shakira had a certification for more than 2 million records sold for 'Sale El Sol'

One very intesting thing about it is: Jennifer according to RIIA has sold 11 million cds in the USA (not counting singles) but they are only counting her certified albums, it means CAUM/BRAVE/LOVE? are not being counted, which is a pitty, she is already in the 12 million range.

IS IT ENOUGH??

FIAT even paid for her set on AMA's.  Hopefully after her greatest hits album she can get out that broke ass label and join Interscope.

I agree...she ahd better promo with every album she s done with epic.. but her singles failed because they were outdated back then...
when she relased do it well that track sounded like from 2004... I loved it but it was so dated in 2007..
epic pushed promo always for 1st week sales , but after that 0...def jam didn t do anything practically, so she better get her new label like interscope..

No it's not. According to my read...

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) awards the IFPI Platinum Europe Award for album sales over one million within Europe and (as of October 2009) the Middle East. Multi-Platinum Europe Awards are presented for sales in subsequent multiples of a million. The award, which was inaugurated in 1996, is not restricted to European group artists. Time is not a factor for an album to reach Platinum.

LMAO... You really wanna argue...
you also can find the following in the IFPI website:

IFPI represents the recording industry worldwide, with a membership comprising some 1400 record companies in 66 countries and affiliated industry associations in 45 countries. IFPI's mission is to promote the value of recorded music, safeguard the rights of record producers and expand the commercial uses of recorded music in all markets where its members operate.

Don't make me google Shakira's IFPI certificate for more than 2 million albums sold for SES.... It will be too much for you... Above is posted Bey's worldwide certificate, it was issued by IFPI, if you don't wanna believe that go to a Beyonce's forum and prove it by yourself.

Is it a big deal for such a boring discussion/??

Can I have the LINK for the SES certification for 2 million?  because I couldn't find anything!

By the way, SES has NOT been certified yet with 1 million (Platino) for Europe, these are the certifications for this year so far:

I believe the IFPI keep RECORDS of Worldwide sales,  BUT they DON'T provide certifications for those sales,  they only release certifications for Europe and the  Middle East!

@Wellyver, and here is what Matthew's (cough cough I mean Beyonce's) plaque actually states..

Image

Presented to Mathew Knowles? Singles, copies, and ringtones? This must be a joke of some kind.

And suppose you are right.. then where is Adele's plaque for "21"? Rihanna's for "Loud"? Lady Gaga's for "Born This Way"? Each have sold way more than 4Million copies worldwide. Unless ofc ifpi certs. are mainly for Europe, and the organization just tracks & record worldwide sales like Huetarfriend stated.
