Jennifer Lopez Splits With Publicist

Jennifer Lopez has parted ways with her publicist, Mark Young, after about three years. There are rumors swirling around that the split was due to the controversial performance in Turkmenistan two months ago. However, The Hollywood Reporter states that Jennifer’s decision to part ways with Young was unrelated to that PR nightmare and instead was due to Sunshine Sachs’ presence in New York and Los Angeles and experience in such areas as branding and corporate communications as well as personal publicity.

Mark Young wanted to reinvent her image; not only for the press to appreciate her work but also for the fans. After a couple of months of being part of JLo’s team, it was announced that she would be part of the American Idol panel. This was such a huge success for her career, that all of a sudden everyone wanted to talk about – JLo. All major brands like Loreal, Gucci, Fiat, and Harman Kardon wanted to work with her, again. Her music started to play on the radio with smash hits like ‘On The Floor’ and ‘Dance Again’. It was incredible how much good press was going around mentioning Jennifer Lopez.

He also worked to set up a plan to make Jennifer more active on social networks like Twitter and Facebook and it worked! The number of followers went up from 200K to 22 Million in three years. JLo even had a first on Twitter by premiering a music video ‘Follow The Leader’ feat. Wisin y Yandel. It was such a successful plan that Forbes named Jennifer Lopez the Most Powerful Celebrity of 2012 and to get into this list, money doesn’t do much. Let’s not also forget about those first magazine titles she’s got like People’s Magazine ‘World’s Most Beautiful Woman‘ or Glamour Magazine ‘Glamour Woman Of The Year‘ edition. She also appeared multiple times in major international magazines like Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Harpers Bazaar to name a few.

Let’s now talk about the tour and the fans. This was one of his last major accomplishments with Jennifer before the split. One of the things JLove!rs love about Mark is how well he understands the business between JLo and the fans. When JLo announced her first world tour he knew it was such a big thing for the fans and Jennifer herself that he came up with a Tweet to Meet on Twitter. This idea was to get fans from all over the world to tweet about how much they wanted to meet JLo and then Jennifer herself decided who were the lucky ones to get to meet her for free, with a backstage pass. Thanks to Mark, many JLove!rs got to meet their idol.

We have known many people coming and going on JLo’s Team but only a few made such an impact to the fans. Mark Young made an impact on all of us by getting Jennifer closer to the fans and the fans closer to Jennifer. We will never forget that and hopefully JLo’s newest publicist realizes the importance of the fans!

“The Fosters” Finale Goes Out Strong with 2.07 million viewers

Monday’s summer finale of the ABC Family drama “The Fosters” sets new high record in total viewers (2.07 million).  

Impressively, this marked the series’ 3rd consecutive week rising to series highs in Adults 18-34, Women 18-34 and Viewers 12-34, and 4th straight week in Females 12-34. “The Fosters” stood as Monday’s #1 scripted TV telecast in Females 12-34 for the first time this season and was the #1 TV telecast for the 6th Straight week in Female Teens.

Due to its huge success, ABC Family officially picked up a back order of episodes a few days ago. Also, the show is nominated for 4 Teen Choice Awards!! It is up for Choice Summer TV Show, Choice TV Breakout Show, actor Jake T. Austin is up for Choice Summer TV Star: Male, and actress Maia Mitchell is up for Choice Summer TV Star: Female! Make sure you support Jennifer and the show by voting at TeenChoiceAwards.com! The last day to vote is Saturday, August 10!

The Viva Móvil Fiesta will kick off the grand opening of the Viva Movil Flatbush store in Brooklyn TODAY, Friday, July 26, 12-4pm ET. The store is located at 162 Flatbush Avenue.

The street next to the store (Pacific) will be closed during this time for the “Viva Móvil Fiesta” event where there will be free food, caricatures, giveaways, and participating partner activities with Verizon and Univision. We can also confirm that Jennifer, herself, will make an appearance at the store!!

This will be a fun family event and we hope to see many BBers celebrating the flagship store grand opening of Viva Móvil by Jennifer Lopez!

NUVOtv’s entire July 18th Night of Premieres increased primetime viewership for the growing independent network by 260% versus last year’s primetime delivery, with individual shows displaying growth ranging from to 255% to 767%.
