Shades of Blue Final Season Premiere Airs June 17!

NBC has announced that “Shades of Blue” will conclude after three seasons this Summer. Jennifer has a full slate between All I Have, World of Dance, 2019’s Bye Bye Birdie and a number of yet to be announced TV and film projects. Shades will premiere its 10-episode third season on Sunday, June 17 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

“I have enjoyed producing and starring in this beautifully complicated world and playing such an empowering yet flawed character – a woman, a detective, but, first and foremost, a mother,” Jennifer said in a press release. “Now looking at it with a little distance, playing Harlee strengthened me and helped me grow into a more self-assured woman. It’s crazy how some parts permeate your soul and change you forever and for that I am grateful. We crafted a poetic three-season arc on how her journey ends, which is true redemption. The way only Harlee could have done it – the hard way, the road less traveled. I thank NBC and all the talented actors, writers, crew and producers for going on this journey with us!”

“We are very proud that this remarkable series attracted iconic stars like the incomparable Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta to broadcast television,” said Lisa Katz, Co-President, Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment. “We are so grateful for all the hard work and dedication of Jack Orman and his incredible producers as well as the entire cast and crew.”

Shades of Blue Renewed for Season 3!

NBC announced today that Jennifer Lopez’s “Shades of Blue” has been renewed for a third season! The announcement was made by Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment:

“We’re so hugely appreciative of everything Jennifer and Ray do, and know it is due to their dedication, as well as the hard work of our incredible cast and producers, that ‘Shades of Blue’ has so clearly and compellingly earned a third-season renewal,” said Jennifer Salke, President of NBC Entertainment in a release. “This show continues to mine powerful stories that always leave us hungry for more.”

Per the release, “Shades of Blue” is dominating the Sunday 10 p.m. ET hour among the ABC, CBS and NBC dramas, generating a +50% margin of victory in the timeslot in adult 18-49 rating. In total viewers, “Shades of Blue” also wins decisively, averaging 5.0 million viewers in “live plus same day” ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

Additionally, “Shades” leads the timeslot’s broadcast competition in all other key measures – adults, men and women 18-34; men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54.

“Shades” adds substantial viewership from time-shifting and video on demand, with the show’s March 5 season premiere growing by 66% in “live plus three day” Nielsens to a 1.6 rating in adults 18-49, and in total viewers by 2.5 million persons to a total of 7.8 million, accounting for the biggest L+3 lifts of the night on the Big 4 networks.

Congratulations Jennifer and everyone involved!
